A grant of £4,000 from Autodata was awarded in 2014 to the Maidenhead and District Stroke Club, to provide physiotherapy and acupuncture sessions for people who have suffered a stroke.

Stroke is the most common cause of disability in the UK, with the recovery and rehabilitation from stroke presenting many physical and emotional challenges.  The club help around 50 members from every walk of life to re-establish themselves in social situations and make use of the abilities they have.

“The physio, home exercise, remedial massage and acupuncture financed by grants from Berkshire Community Foundation have helped our members’ mobility, flexibility, strength and stamina.  These grants have been invaluable and we cannot thank you enough.”
