People to Places is the community transport organisation for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. They provide a dial-a-ride, shopmobility and related services to people in the local community who require assistance with transport because of limited mobility caused by disability or infirmity. The mini buses are specially adapted to cater for most types of physical disability and are accessible to people in wheelchairs. In addition, the drivers are trained to be supportive and help build people’s confidence in leaving their homes, becoming less isolated or lonely.

People to Places were awarded £5,000 and have worked with Norden Farm Centre for the Arts in a ‘Social Arts’ programme, supporting lonely and isolated individuals to interact through learning about creating and exhibiting artworks. The group aims to continue with this partnership project, concentrating on the transport element. The project aims to continue to meet an established and existing needs.
