Geraldine Lejeune OBE appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Berkshire

24 June 2021 – Berkshire Community Foundation is delighted to congratulate our co-CEO Geraldine Lejeune OBE on her appointment this week as a Deputy Lieutenant to the Lord Lieutenant for the Royal County of Berkshire, Mr James Puxley.

Appointed alongside three other new Deputy Lieutenants to Mr Puxley, she will henceforth hold the title of Mrs Geraldine Lejeune OBE DL.

Geraldine said: “I am thrilled and honoured to be appointed Deputy Lieutenant and very much looking forward to working with the Lord Lieutenant and the Lieutenancy Office to support all the work they do across Berkshire.  It is a great privilege to be appointed Deputy Lieutenant and assisting the Lord Lieutenant in representing her Majesty the Queen.”

The role of the Deputy Lieutenants is to support the Lord Lieutenant in his wide-ranging work as Her Majesty’s personal representative in the County. Besides supporting public and emergency services and the armed forces in Berkshire, they work to support charitable and voluntary organisations and to take an interest in the commercial, social, civic and spiritual life of the County.

The Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire is now supported in his work by the Vice Lord Lieutenant and 31 Deputy Lieutenants in total.
