ABOUT BCF

Berkshire Community Foundation connects local people who care with local causes across the Royal County of Berkshire.

For 40 years BCF has been representing Berkshire charities and causes providing a quality service to donors and causes as one voice via one relationship to deliver authentic philanthropic solutions, strategies and advise for local business, families, individuals, trusts and statutory organisations. We exist for those that want to achieve real impact through powerful partnerships that directly support local community causes.

Since our inception in 1985 we have delivered over £22m in financial support. Impacting 154,000 people in 2025 to 2026 alone across 235 community projects.

On average BCF generates over £1m in grants per year in funding support. Our mission is to make even greater impact as we celebrate 40th year in 2026 and beyond.

All charities and community groups are welcome to apply for funding, and we encourage all local businesses and organisations to partner with us to see truly collective regional impact in action.

Our vision remains the same, to be home to a strong generous local community ensuring that those most in need in our community are fully supported.

How to Give Local

There are over 8,000 charities, community groups and voluntary organisations in our county and we have created a range of options and ways of giving with confidence, including bespoke partnership opportunities, tailor made to what matters most to you – whether it is a one-off or a longer-term commitment.

Who we help

We specialise in supporting community-based organisations focused on helping disadvantaged Berkshire. The money donated by generous local people and businesses stays local, helping:

The elderly, to stay active and warm and well in their homes

People with long-term or terminal illnesses, and their carers

People with physical and/or mental disabilities

Children and young people

Minority ethnic communities

People not in work, education or training

Homeless people and those at risk

Addiction sufferers and their families

We target support to ensure it goes to the people and places that need it most.

The benefits to our donors

Giving responsibly at whatever level needs care and attention. We take care of the due-diligence for all our donors so that gifts make the maximum impact for the people they help. We also make giving as quick, easy and tax efficient as possible. We monitor the resources we distribute to ensure they have achieved maximum effect in combatting disadvantage across the county.
