At Berkshire Community Foundation, we offer a range of grant programmes throughout the year to support charities and community groups across Berkshire.

Below is an overview of our core funding streams:

  • other funding streams may become available throughout the year based on donor priorities
  • organisations may receive one grant per financial year (excluding Surviving Winter and donor-advised grants)
  • we reserve the right to reduce grant awards where partial funding would still enable delivery of meaningful outcomes

You may use AI tools to help draft your application, but please ensure the content:

  • Reflects your own voice and understanding of local need
  • Has been reviewed and approved by your team
  • Does not include fabricated data or claims

 

Applications are assessed on clarity, evidence and impact – regardless of whether AI tools were used.

Grants for Older People

BCF manages a number of funds which aim to support projects tackling issues affecting older people, such as isolation, health and well-being. Our Funds for Older people will be open for applications from 23rd April until 21st May. Grant Size: up to £5,000

Priority Grants

This year, our Priority Grants Round focuses on the following themes: Safety and Protection and Homelessness and Basic Needs Our Priority Grants Round will be open for applications from 29th June until 13th August. Grant Size: up to £10,000

Surviving Winter

Funding in this round can only be used to support energy costs, helping organisations stay open and serve their communities throughout winter. Our Surviving Winter Funding Round will be open for applications from 28th September until 29th October. Grant Size: up to £2,500

Grassroots Grants

We know that grassroots organisations are often best placed to understand what their communities need. This fund is designed to be flexible and accessible, supporting a wide range of local projects and activities. Our Grassroots Round will be open for applications from January 2027 until March 2027. Grant size: up to £5,000

Small and Vital

We know that small community groups often need small amounts of funding to make a big difference. The Small & Vital Fund is open all year and offers quick, flexible support to help organisations continue their work and respond to local needs. Grant Size: up to £1,000
