Case Study: Sebastian's Action Trust

Slough

Sebastian’s Action Trust was awarded a grant of £5,000 from ‘Give a Child a Chance’ in 2015.

Sebastian’s Action Trust helps families of seriously ill and life-limited children, from diagnosis, through to treatment and beyond.  The grant has enabled them to set up and run a community café at their Family Services Hub in Slough, benefiting nearly 250 people who can drop-in for information, advice and support.  The aim is to reduce isolation by providing a space where families can meet and share their experiences.

“We know we cannot add days to lives but with facilities like our Hub and the Bluebells Cafe, we can put life into days, helping families to build memories that will last a lifetime. The generosity of Berkshire Community Foundation has made this possible and we look forward to continued collaboration in the future.”

Jane Gates OBE
CEO of Sebastian’s Action Trust
