In the last year, around 4,800 families or individuals, who didn’t know how or when they could feed themselves, were able to get emergency food parcels from Woodley Foodbank. 

Reflecting the growing demand for its service we granted Woodley Foodbank £1,800 to help fund the cost of employing a part-time member of staff. In her role, Jenny focuses on ensuring the service provided is as effective and efficient as possible. If an individual or family needs help, Jenny is there to ensure they can get the supplies they need.

Previously the service was run by a rota of volunteers, meaning help wasn’t always available. Jenny is also responsible for promoting Woodley Foodbank to anyone who is hungry and needs support, including local community groups. Recently a workshop with a group of young mums resulted in food and nappies being given out.

Jenny has also applied for other grants, which had not been done before, to secure extra funding for the Foodbank. The funding is really needed so the Foodbank can help more people like a woman who needed emergency help over a weekend and said:
