Match funding boost for BCF’s Surviving Winter

Berkshire Community Foundation (BCF) is launching Surviving Winter 2017, a campaign to raise £10,000 to help the elderly, isolated or disadvantaged this winter who are having to choose between heating their home, putting food on the table or buying their children a suitable winter coat.

This year we are delighted to have been selected to participate in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2017, the UK’s largest match funding campaign – donations to Surviving Winter will be matched for 7 days from 12pm on 28th November.

BCF is asking local people who do not need their winter fuel allowance to donate it. Even if you don’t receive a winter fuel payment, you can still make a donation of any size. It is a simple, compassionate and generous gift that really could transform people’s lives, enabling them to stay warm and healthy over Christmas and throughout winter.  Donations will be used to fund projects in Berkshire to support adults and children most in need of help, making sure they can afford to stay warm, eat well, and stay healthy throughout the winter.

Why donate to the BCF Surviving Winter Fund?

During the cold winter months, many local people have to choose between heating their home, putting food on the table or buying their children a suitable winter coat. These incredibly difficult decisions are common for so many people and BCF aims to raise £10k to support people experiencing fuel poverty.

What happens during the Christmas Challenge?

Donations made to our project via theBigGive.org.uk will be doubled during the campaign. If you would like to support our work this year, we highly recommend doing so during the Christmas Challenge when your donation will be doubled and make even more of a difference to us.
