21st May 2024, Berkshire. Charlie Waller Trust received £5000 from Berkshire Community Foundation to provide free workplace mental health training and workshops for those working in the charity and voluntary sector in Berkshire.
Building on the success of last year’s funded project to improve mental health in the workplace, the training will be delivered by the Charlie Waller Workplace team who are a multi-skill team with experience and expertise in:
• Mental Health and Wellbeing
• Human Resources and People Practices
• Organisational Development and Change
• Organisational and Health Psychology
• Occupational Health
Abigail Hirshman, Director of Charlie Waller Workplace, said “We are incredibly excited and honoured to have received this grant for a second year. Our training and workshops motivate, build confidence, inform, and offer practical tools to help deliver tangible change. They also enable attendees to support their own and others’ mental health and wellbeing and make a real difference in the workplace.”
Did you know that poor mental health and work-related stress costs UK employers 28 billion annually? Research shows that over 40% of staff in the third sector routinely ‘go to work when they are experiencing poor mental health and would benefit from some time off’.
As those working in the third sector are typically motivated by helping others research shows they also find it harder to speak out when they are struggling. If this sounds familiar to you and if you want to understand more about building a good mental health working culture, the Charlie Waller Trust have workshops tailored to meet a range of organisational needs and are free of charge to attend:
