The outstanding contributions of Windsor & Maidenhead’s voluntary and community sector were celebrated in style at the inaugural VCS Partnership Awards 2025. Held on Tuesday 2 December at the elegant Taplow Court, the event welcomed more than 80 guests — including volunteers, charity leaders, community organisers and civic representatives — for an uplifting evening honouring the people and groups who help make the borough more connected, compassionate and resilient.

Hosted by the Royal Borough’s Voluntary & Community Sector Partnership, the awards were delivered through a collaboration between Berkshire Community Foundation, the Windsor & Maidenhead Interfaith Forum (WAMCF), the Royal Borough Council, Adult Learning, I Love Windsor CIC, and WAM Get Involved. The partnership was created to strengthen local voluntary and community organisations, helping them thrive and ensuring residents benefit from a dynamic and well‑supported civic sector.

Guests were welcomed with a relaxed drinks reception and a selection of light bites, accompanied by live piano music from acclaimed musician Francis Haines. The setting and atmosphere created the perfect backdrop for an evening centred around gratitude, celebration and community pride.

Three award categories formed the heart of the ceremony.
Volunteer of the Year, presented by the Mayor, Cllr Mandy Brar, recognised an exceptional individual alongside two highly commended nominees.
Young Volunteer of the Year, presented by Maeve Flanagan of Tempo Maidenhead, celebrated the inspiring contributions of younger members of the community.
Group of the Year, awarded by the Chief Executive of RBWM Council, honoured one outstanding organisation as well as two highly commended groups making remarkable local impact.

Reflecting on the night, partnership representative Paul Samuels shared heartfelt thanks:
